State Finalist

2008 Crockett County Marching Cavalier Band--Leah Foust, Director
Mike Martin, Asst. Director, Janet Richardson, Color Guard Instructor

On Saturday, November 1, 2008 the Crockett County Marching Cavaliers changed school band history. For the first time in the 25 year history of CCHS, the Marching Cavalier Band "made the cut" and qualified to perform in the State Finals. The Cavalier Band left a lasting impression on their audience at the Tennessee State Division II Marching Band Championship. The band finished ninth in the state. Band members would like to express their gratitude to everyone that has supported them throughout the year. This year's show, "The Beatles" included the songs, Magical Mystery Tour, Yesterday, Eleanor Rigby and Hey Jude. The soloists for the year are Kyle Anderson, Jessica Galloway and Amber Henderson on trumpet and John David Welch on baritone. The field commander is Haley Edwards.

State Competition

State competition has come and gone and to say the least, it was an eventful trip. The band did a great job. They performed better than they have all year. Everyone seemed to have a great time. Getting home was very interesting. One of our buses broke down and we put two full buses of kids and parents on to one bus. It was interesting and quite funny at times. We were all very tired, but it was a great end to a sometimes rocky year. Congrats to the bands for their markings and to Field Commander Haley Edwards for her superior scores. You guys ROCK!!!

First Competition

The Crockett County Marching Cavaliers had their first competition Saturday, September 15 at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Though a trophy did not come back to Crockett County with us, the band did a great job. They have been working hard and it will pay off for them. We will be competing Saturday, September 22 at Liberty Magnet School. The next weekend, the 29th, we will be hosting the First Annual Crockett County Marching Invitational. Please come and support our band each time they take the field.

(Additional pics added below)

UPDATE: We will not be competing at Liberty on September 22 due to illnesses among our band group.

See you on the 29th!!!
